The Shuttle Eco supplies animals 365 days a year around the clock with precisely tailored amounts of fresh feed. Optimal feeding is the most important factor in animal care. Higher feed intake leads to better performance and thus an increase in your farm's profitability. By feeding small amounts frequently, feed waste is minimal and the animals' natural feeding behavior is supported. Improved animal health is the result.
The feed is perfectly cut and mixed with the desired concentrate and mineral components. A DM sensor determines the dry matter content of the feed. Water and liquid components can also be added before the Shuttle Eco drives fully automatically through the barn and dispenses the feed.
The Shuttle Eco is charged via an innovative charging station. Integrated cooling & heating mats keep the battery temperature constant, significantly extending battery life. The filling of the Shuttle Eco can take place at the charging station as well as at individual pick-up points; mixing occurs at the charging station.
When multiple Shuttle Eco units are operating in the same barn, the "Dispatcher" coordinates their deployment. All work orders are distributed across the individual devices according to an optimization principle, ensuring even utilization of each feeding robot. The result is a significant efficiency increase of 20%.
Weather conditions, different forage cuts and variations in silage quality affect the dry matter content of the forage. Once the ration has been mixed, the dry matter sensor in the mixing hopper checks it against the defined target value. If the mixture is too dry, the precisely calculated amount of water is added automatically. This ensures a consistent ration and helps prevent feed sorting caused by mixtures that are too dry.
At the same time, the Feed Sensor measures the amount of feed currently available at two different positions along the feed table. This information is automatically incorporated into the calculation for the next feeding cycle. Together, the Dry Matter Sensor and Feed Sensor form an intelligent dual system. While one monitors the quality of the feed mix, the other measures the amount of feed available. This ensures that the animals always have the right amount of feed and an optimally balanced ration – fully automatically and without any additional workload.
